About the event
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: “The Power of Music” will focus on Tony White's work as a musician, music educator and advocate for students in Los Angeles and beyond.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Anthony “Tony” White is currently the Coordinator for LAUSD's Beyond the Bell Music and Entertainment Education, a program that provides a comprehensive music education to over 15,000 students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. He also oversees the LAUSD All-City High School Honor Marching Band and Jazz programs, two groups that have become regulars at the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival.
Mr. White has been recognized for his work by the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, the Los Angeles Jazz Society and the LAUSD. He's also a woodwind artist (saxophone, clarinet and flute) who performs and records in various music ensembles.
Mr. White serves on the boards of Friends of Jazz at UCLA, Education through Music - Los Angeles, Los Angeles Jazz Society, and Pacific Crest Youth Arts Organization. He's held positions on the boards of the California Music Educators Association and Jazz Education Network.
ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker.
TICKETS: Sales on labreakfastclub.com close 48 hours before breakfast. Non-members are $25 and Members receive a 25% discount when logged into their Membership Portal.
Please arrive between 6:45 - 7:00 AM sharp! Doors close at 7:15 AM. Your admission includes a buffet breakfast, enjoyment of our 98-year-old club traditions, plus a special presentation from our Speaker of the Week!
