Meet The Team

Mickey Corcoran is an award-winning director and producer with a career spanning over 40 years, most notably with Disney Channel. His diverse work includes projects for Cartoon Network and an Internet series that ran for over 150 episodes. Mickey has directed/produced over 350 television episodes, live broadcasts, and specials. Mickey’s television career began at 13 as an engineer’s apprentice. He has mentored young creatives, launched several careers through his production company, and is a father of four.

Anna Trumbo is a third-generation Angeleno - and a third-generation Breakfast Clubber! She has reinvented herself several times, pivoting from the film music industry to indie film production, then to hospitality operations and management, and finally into software technology. She is currently the Head of Customer Success at an early-stage start-up. An alum of the Berklee School of Music, Anna enjoys singing, reading, crocheting, being a step-mom and a cat mom, community building, and various forms of activism.

Jason Berk was born in Livingston, New Jersey and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a professional musician and has shared the stage with members of The Monkees, Wings, The Beach Boys, and more. And he recently completed a two-week European tour playing bass with Cat Power. His hobbies include cross stitching, going to Disneyland, and probably knowing more than you about the Beatles

Shannon Watters is an acclaimed award-winning, and best-selling writer and editor of comics and graphic novels. As a writer, she is best known as the co-creator and co-writer of the comic book series LUMBERJANES, and the co-writer of the hit graphic novel HOLLOW. As an editor, she is best known as the founder and former editorial head of BOOM! Box line at BOOM! Studios. She loves vintage nonsense, cooking elaborate meals, funny words, and the city of Los Angeles.

Brianne "Bri" Richard was born and grew up in Massachusetts and moved to California in 2010, after earning a Bachelor’s in Communications from Quinnipiac University. She has worked for the Television Academy, Amazon Studios, and now as an independent consultant in the entertainment awards space. When not consulting, Bri enjoys traveling, reading, sewing, crafting and mending, pop culture, and learning new skills. She is mom to two cats named Scout and Tallulah, who surprisingly are not named after Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s children. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, Bri Chairs the Marketing Team.

Celeste Hong is a born and bred Los Angeles resident, who has been involved in local non profit community organizations focused on historic preservation. She is an alumna of Immaculate Heart High School and Sarah Lawrence College. Celeste has deep roots in Los Angeles, as her paternal grandfather was one of the founders of LA Chinatown.

Eric Kurland is an award-winning filmmaker, 3-D specialist, and CEO of 3-D SPACE, The Center For Stereoscopic Photography, Art, Cinema, and Education. Consulting on 3-D projects, his clients have included National Geographic, NASA JPL, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, 3-D director of the Grammy nominated OK Go music video All Is Not Lost, Lead Stereographer on the Oscar nominated short Maggie Simpson in The Longest Daycare, and the Emmy nominated Planet Of The Couches VR for The Simpsons. In 2014, he founded 3-D SPACE, a Los Angeles nonprofit museum dedicated to the art, science, and history of stereoscopic images.

Richard Mayerik loves whimsical clubs, friendship and a hearty breakfast. In addition to serving on the LABC Board of Directors, he is the Vice President of the LABC Foundation, and Chairs the Merchandise and Live-Events Teams. A "Professional Nerd" who frequently works within the world of toys, comics and television about toys and comics, his hobbies include playing pinball, Tiki culture and pop-culture Archaeology.

Shannon King was born in Berkeley, California, grew up in Oakland, and eventually moved to Los Angeles, where she’s lived for 23 years. She’s worked as an Animal Adoption Counselor at Berkeley Humane Society, and as an Escrow Officer at her Grandmother’s Escrow Company in Venice and Santa Monica, and Shannon is now a stay-at-home cat mom to seven cats. She’s also a member of the BMW Car Club of America and the MINI Club – she’s currently driving her 5th MINI Cooper! In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, swimming, caring for community cats, hanging out at Disneyland, and hunting down tiki mugs to add to her collection.

Jessalyn Peters was born in Omaha, NE and moved to Los Angeles in 2021 from the Upper West Side of New York City. She is retired after a career with the Federal Reserve. Before the Federal Reserve she had a long career in banking, working in New York, San Francisco, and Mexico City. She also consulted for the State Department and USAID in Russia, the Balkans, and the Middle East. She volunteers at the Hollywood Food Coalition and is a graduate of the Newcomb College of Tulane University. Her hobbies are photography, cooking, and travel.

Carlos Romer was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and has lived in California since 2006. He is the VP of Corporate Finance at Curacao and earned an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He is married with three children and his hobbies include surfing, yoga, and knives.

Kahlil Nelson has been an LABC member since 2018. He is a graduate of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (Class of '94) and the ITMI Tour Management Institute (2020). Since 2013, he has served as a docent for the Gamble House, and since 2015, he has been a gallery attendant at the Norton Simon Museum. He’s developed signature tours, including the Clifton’s Living History Tour and programs for the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. He is a performer and writer who regularly contributes creative content for the LABC. He loves musical theater, being a Disney adult, tiki beverages and comedic radio/ podcasts.

Aileen Joines is a first-generation American, Long Beach native and Dual Citizen of her mother's native country, Ireland. She has a Bachelor’s in History from Loyola Marymount University, studied abroad in Canterbury and Queens College, Oxford. and completed 98.7% of the Masters degree in American History at CSULB. Professionally she's worked in admin for LA Theatre Works, NEC, CSULB and AppleOne. Currently she's a never stay at home Mom, Girl Scout Leader, Volunteer Citizen Archivist for the National Archives and Board Secretary for the LABC. In her spare time, she enjoys history, weaving, archery, woodworking, baking, gardening, camping, all things Irish, Duran Duran, U2 and the BeeGees.

Missy Steele believes the world would be better if more people would be willing to devote themselves to joy and helping others, and she is here to lead that revolution. Professionally, she has been the Director of Operations at Bob Baker Marionette Theater, as well as GM at Dynasty Typewriter. Currently, along with being Club Manager, she is a Board Member at Silent Cinema Art and Technology, Social Media Manager at MorYork, Co-Producer of "The Muppet Script" live shows, Festival Coordinator and Float Builder for the Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade, Scenic Builder for Bob Baker, and she runs a screen printing (and more) business called Bootleg Souvenir Shop. How does she do it all? No one really knows, but no wonder she always has a giant iced coffee in hand.
