Meet The Team

Jessalyn Peters was born in Omaha, NE and moved to Los Angeles in 2021 from the Upper West Side of New York City. She is retired after a career with the Federal Reserve. Before the Federal Reserve she had a long career in banking, working in New York, San Francisco, and Mexico City.  She also consulted for the State Department and USAID in Russia, the Balkans, and the Middle East. She volunteers at the Hollywood Food Coalition and is a graduate of the Newcomb College of Tulane University. Her hobbies are photography, cooking, and travel.

Carlos Romer was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and has lived in California since 2006. He is the VP of Corporate Finance at Curacao and earned an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He is married with three children and his hobbies include surfing, yoga, and knives.

Kahlil Nelson has been an LABC member since 2018. He is a graduate of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (Class of '94) and the ITMI Tour Management Institute (2020). Since 2013, he has served as a docent for the Gamble House, and since 2015, he has been a gallery attendant at the Norton Simon Museum. He’s developed signature tours, including the Clifton’s Living History Tour and programs for the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. He is a performer and writer who regularly contributes creative content for the LABC. He loves musical theater, being a Disney adult, tiki beverages and comedic radio/ podcasts.

Aileen Joines is a first-generation American, Long Beach native and Dual Citizen of her mother's native country, Ireland. She has a Bachelor’s in History from Loyola Marymount University, studied abroad in Canterbury and Queens College, Oxford. and completed 98.7% of the Masters degree in American History at CSULB. Professionally she's worked in admin for LA Theatre Works, NEC, CSULB and AppleOne. Currently she's a never stay at home Mom, Girl Scout Leader, Volunteer Citizen Archivist for the National Archives and Board Secretary for the LABC. In her spare time, she enjoys history, weaving, archery, woodworking, baking, gardening, camping, all things Irish, Duran Duran, U2 and the BeeGees. 

Missy Steele believes the world would be better if more people would be willing to devote themselves to joy and helping others, and she is here to lead that revolution. Professionally, she has been the Director of Operations at Bob Baker Marionette Theater, as well as GM at Dynasty Typewriter. Currently, along with being Club Manager, she is a Board Member at Silent Cinema Art and Technology, Social Media Manager at MorYork, Co-Producer of "The Muppet Script" live shows, Festival Coordinator and Float Builder for the Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade, Scenic Builder for Bob Baker, and she runs a screen printing (and more) business called Bootleg Souvenir Shop. How does she do it all? No one really knows, but no wonder she always has a giant iced coffee in hand.
