About the event
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Each year, tens of thousands of letters are sent to Santa Claus through the U.S. Mail. USPS Operation Santa allows people to adopt actual letters written to Santa online and send thoughtful, heartfelt gifts anonymously – acting as Santa and keeping the magic alive! The program is 110 years old this year and the mission remains: "To provide a channel where people can safely and securely help children and families have a magical holiday when they otherwise might not … one letter to Santa at a time."
In 2021, Los Angeles Breakfast Club members participated in this special program by adopting the letter of an aspring ballet dancer, delivering holiday magic just in time for her stage debut in the Nutcracker. Her story and our members will be featured in a 6-episode documentary miniseries, Dear Santa, highlighting different letters from kids and people who step up in unexpected ways to create a happy ending. The series will air in December across select ABC stations including WABC in New York, WPVI in Philadelphia, WLS in Chicago, WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, KTRK in Houston, KABC in Los Angeles, KFSN in Fresno and KGO in San Francisco. Additionally, the episodes will be available across ABC’s Localish and on Hulu.
Join the Los Angeles Breakfast Club for a special screening of our Dear Santa episode, featuring several of our members and a heartwarming story as they spread holiday cheer. Guests will learn how they can adopt a letter and give a gift to a child in their community.
