ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Put on your favorite costume and come celebrate Halloween with the LA Breakfast Club! You’ll experience the spooky stylings of Matt Schnittker’s Magic Lantern (accompanied by live music!), travel back in time with his 19th century version of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven,” and enjoy tricks and treats - with a side of ham and eggs!
ABOUT MAGIC LANTERN SHOWS: Before there were movies, the world was awed and amazed by the marvelous Magic Lantern. Invented in 1659 by the Dutch physicist and astronomer Christiaan Huygens, the Magic Lantern enthralled young and old for nearly 250 years. But it was slowly phased out in the early 20th century due to motion pictures, and so it’s rare to see a Magic Lantern show today.
