About the event
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: At Burning Man in 2019, Madison Girifalco launched an immersive art installation – “The Puppet Room". It was a colorful, playful, puppet-filled space to allow participants to take a break from the events outside.
Then Covid happened, and when Girifalco brought her puppet room back to Burning Man, she led a grief circle in the environment. And thus, Holding Space was born. Girifalco now creates puppets installations intentionally designed to foster community connection around grief and loss using immersive art and puppetry.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Madison Girifalco is an immersive installation artist, puppet-fabricator, and children’s book author. She uses puppetry to foster community through immersive arts and storytelling. Her project Holding Space is designed to acknowledge loss in a community setting, challenging our cultural norms around grieving and bereavement.
ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun.…
