CELEBRATE THE 99th BIRTHDAY OF THE LOS ANGELES BREAKFAST CLUB! On March 6, 1925, a group of equestrians sat down for breakfast after a morning ride around Griffith Park... now, 99 years later, come celebrate with breakfast at the Shrine of Friendship!
And hear a very special presentation from LA Breakfast Club Historian Rachel Skytt, as she tells the story of the LA Breakfast Club Schism of 1934:
Ninety years ago, The Los Angeles Breakfast Club faced its greatest challenge. Threatened by foreclosure, LABC was forced to leave the original Riverside Drive clubhouse and began to meet temporarily at the Ambassador Hotel. However, a faction calling themselves the Original Breakfast Club continued to hold meetings at Riverside Drive. Both Breakfast Clubs met at the same time, both aired radio programs, and both clubs booked similar speakers and entertainers.
