About the event
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Wally Boag auditioned for Walt Disney in June of 1955 for a role in the Golden Horseshoe Revue, a show Walt was putting together for his new theme park. This opportunity came after years of performing in plays, variety shows, and nightclubs all over the U.S., Europe, and Australia. He would eventually set the Guinness World Record for the most number of performances in a show at over 40,000. He would retire from Disneyland and the Golden Horseshoe Revue in 1983.
September 13th also happens to be Wally Boag's birthday! He would've been 103.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Laurence Boag was born in 1949 and experienced his dad’s wonderful career from the inside. He'll be sharing some insights into his father’s life and the Disney years through his own lens “growing up in Disneyland.”
ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker.
