MEMBERS-ONLY: Join us on December 2 as LABC Members walk (or ride a reindeer friend of Hamlette) together in the beloved Montrose-Glendale Christmas Parade!
ABOUT THE MONTROSE-GLENDALE CHRISTMAS PARADE:
The Montrose Christmas Parade began in the early 1950s when MGM musical star, Dennis Morgan, created an afternoon holiday parade which marched down Honolulu Ave. in broad daylight. The parade was an instant hit with the public (fun fact: historic friend of LABC Jackie Cooper served as Grand Marshal!). Sadly, when Mr. Morgan moved away, the parade came to an end.The Montrose Christmas Parade was revived in 1976 by Frank Roberts, a Montrose Shopping Park merchant, to attract shoppers at the start of the Christmas shopping season to the unique and eclectic collection of shops, businesses and restaurants along Honolulu Avenue. The new version of the parade caught the imagination of young and old alike, and the rest, as they say, is history!
The Los Angeles Breakfast Club Foundation is proud to be a sponsor of this year's parade.
DETAILS: This event is free! Please wear your most festive finery or your silliest breakfast-themed best (no Santa suits allowed though)
The parade begins at 6:10 pm, but we'll assemble at the check-in booth at 4:45.
The parade runs for about a mile (wear comfortable shoes). The parade itself begins at Honolulu Ave. & Rosemont Ave. and runs east to Verdugo Rd.
