ABOUT THE BOOK: TIGHT HEADS is the first full-color photo publication from Sam Sweet's All Night Menu Books, an imprint dedicated to lost histories of Los Angeles. The book explores an unearthed collection of Polaroids taken by the actress Candy Clark during the 1970s and early 1980s. Her disarmingly intimate portraits (Clark nicknamed them "tight heads") place iconic Hollywood figures alongside artists, writers, and local characters known and unknown. Paired with personal remembrances from Clark, the project is part visual autobiography, part love letter to Los Angeles, and a rare female perspective on a much-mythologized period.
