ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: The Marine Mammal Care Center is a non-profit hospital for marine animals that strand on the 70+ miles of beaches from Malibu to Seal Beach due to illness, injury, and malnutrition. MMCC has provided life-saving care for marine animals in need since 1992, with the goal of rehabilitating and releasing them back to their ocean home.
As the only year round marine animal hospital in Los Angeles County, MMCC is one of the busiest in the country, admitting on average over 350 patients per year.
As a partner in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Stranding Network, MMCC tracks population trends, evolves treatment protocols and standards, and develops best practices to deliver outstanding care to animals in need.…
