Club Manager

Exciting opportunity for a civic-minded individual to be the Club Manager of The Los Angeles Breakfast Club (LABC)!

LABC is a nearly 100 year-old nonprofit located in the Los Feliz neighborhood which hosts weekly speakers on topics covering our community and the world.

Members come from all walks of life every Wednesday to share in breakfast and friendship.

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Operations and administrative duties: Ensure smooth operation of the Club including handling communications such as email and phone calls, managing supplies, and working with vendors. Ensure club office is well-organized. Pay routine bills in coordination with Club Treasurer.

  • Website management: Ensure that the LABC website is easy to navigate, attractive and current. Create ticketed events, troubleshoot website issues, and update website content as needed.

  • Member communications: Create a steady flow of communication with members including weekly meeting announcements, updated rosters, monthly bulletins and reminders to pay dues. Process applications for new members.

  • Board and member liaison: Act as point of contact between the Board of Directors and members.

  • Weekly Meeting Production and Pre-production: Oversee production of Wednesday meetings with required attendance between 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Other responsibilities can be carried out remotely or on-site, as needed. Responsibilities include advance planning and coordination with volunteers, employees, contractors, vendors, and speakers. Day of event responsibilities include overseeing set-up and take-down, ensuring meeting runs smoothly, and troubleshooting issues that may arise.

  • Club Property Maintenance: Monitor conditions of equipment such as kitchen appliances and inventory, and audio/visual equipment. Arrange piano tuning. Coordinate repairs with City Recreation and Parks as needed.

  • This position reports to Chair of The Los Angeles Breakfast Club Board of Directors. Skills required include familiarity with Mailchimp, Wix, Google Workspace, Facebook and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn or ability to quickly learn these platforms. The ideal candidate is proactive with strong communication skills and an ability to troubleshoot.

 

The position is an hourly part-time job with a salary range of $17-$20/hour.

Breakfast is provided every Wednesday at our meetings
